I worked in the oil industry and was on an offshore platform with this old-timer who had a job as an operator for years. Because the company was expanding, they sent a new, much younger and much cockier operator to “discipline” the older guy. The more seasoned operator listened for five minutes before walking upstairs and making a call.
Thirty minutes later, there was a helicopter landing on the helipad. It was his new job, coming to pick him up with a sense of style that I had never seen before.
