Dogs Were Associated With the Devil
Dogs were also among those accused of dark magic and were thought to be linked to the devil. During the trial, children in Salem accused two dogs of bewitching them, claiming the dogs somehow sent them into convulsions like the accused witches had done. As a result, these two dogs were killed but later the priest claimed that the dogs weren’t the devil, because the devil wouldn’t have died.
