Pressed to Death
As well as hanging and drowning, an elderly farmer names Giles Corey was put on trial and executed by “pressing.” He was forced to lie down on a wooden board and squashed to death by heavy stones places on top of him, crushing him and suffocating him slowly. His execution came after he was accused of cursing three women. Records claim that Corey’s last words were, “More weight.” Remember the husband who testified against his wife?
