Swim Tests
Another bizarre test carried out on those accused of being a witch was the swimming test. An accused witch would be bound by their hands and feet and viciously thrown into a river or lake. The warped belief at the time was that an innocent person would sink, while a witch would float on the surface. Many innocent people drowned during this test after being left in the water for too long.
