In 2019, Gap INC. notified everyone that it would be shutting down right about 50% of its Locations in the time of 2 years. The retailer collapsed 40 stores globally in early 2020 January, including around 30 United States Locations. The Business Gap INC. also previously revealed that they plan on spinning Sister company Old Navy into its own unrelated business. The existing Gap stores, alongg with the Banana Republic, Hill City, Athleta, & Intermix, will continue to work under the Umbrella Company NewCo. Founded by Donald Fisher & Doris Fisher.
