15. A Speedy Mission
The Astronauts Eugene Andrew Cernan, John Watts Young, Thomas Patten Stafford set a new record, reaching 39,897 km/h (11.08 km/s or 24,791 mph) on May 26, 1969, when they returned from their mission. It’s also the time when Snoopy and Charlie Brown became the mission’s unofficial mascots since the LM’s nickname was Snoopy and the Command/Service Module was dubbed Charlie Brown.
