The Tipping Point
I’m a scaffolder who worked on toe boards on a platform with an apprentice who liked to stick his tongue out when he was concentrating. It was a very cold day, about -25C and were balancing on the balls of our feet and squatting down. The apprentice lost his balance and tipped forward and got his tongue stuck to the mid-rail. I watched as he ripped his tongue off the metal rail. It was the funniest thing I’ve ever witnessed in my life.
