Lack Of Sympathy
According to the Atlas Obscura, Walt Koenig, a senior scientist at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, states that he doesn’t have much sympathy for homeowners that complain about woodpecker damage. He suggests that the homeowners destroy the buildings and rebuild them out of materials that woodpeckers can’t affect.
