Lost Battle
Tipu Sultan was eventually killed in battle in 1799 after leading his troops to battle after the capital was stormed by the British troops. The British soldiers were able to breach the walls of the fortress and killed Tipu during the fight. Following his death, the British troops pillaged Tipu’s palace.
