via Murderpedia

Doctor Linda Hazzard was an early 20th-century physician who told her patients to fast in order to treat their illnesses. This led to the death of 40 patients who starved themselves at the Washington State Wilderness Heights Sanitarium, aka “Starvation Heights” before being convicted in 1912.
