Peter Kurten

Peter Kurten was dubbed the “Vampire of Dusseldorf.” In 1929, he killed about 9 people and attempted to murder another 7 in Dusseldorf, Germany. Changing his MO from scissors to knives to hammers made it difficult to apprehend him. Then he tried strangling Maria Budlick on May 14, 1930, but failed. Eventually, she led the police to his hideout in the woods. He was finally executed by guillotine in 1931.
