After WWII, amphetamines were prescribed to people under the name Methedrine for those who wanted to lose weight. It was also allegedly meant to treat depression too. But while it helped women to stay slim, Methedrine was among those weird vintage techniques for losing weight that also contained potentially serious side-effects.
