In the early 20th century, Wallace M. Rogerson of the Wallace Institute of Chicago claimed you could lose weight by dancing. To that end, he created exercise records like “Get Thin to Music,” which could be played on a phonograph. Aside from marketing records for weight loss reduction, Rogerson also offered in-person training to help people burn fat.
