Origins of the Peacock Chair
One of the first photos published of someone in a peacock chair was around 1914. It was a photo appropriately called “Jail Bird in a Peacock chair.” It was a photo taken of a woman holding her baby. Ironically, she was serving a life sentence at Bilibid Prison after murdering her husband.
