From the early 20th Century, U.S. Presidents were photographed in wicker chairs. Wicker chairs, specifically the peacock chair, allowed these influential world leaders to appear more casual and relatable. The most popular presidents photographed in the chair were John F. Kennedy, Harry S. Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, and Woodrow Wilson.
