Influential in the Black Panther Movement
In 1967, this photo of Huey Newton was taken. He, along with Bobby Seale, co-founded the Black Panther Party. This photo of Huey gained a lot of popularity, and soon the peacock chair took on a whole new meaning. The chair started to make appearances at Black Panther rallies and meetings when Huey could not be present.
