Why Was it Used in Photos?
There were several reasons as to why wicker chairs were used in portrait photos during this time. For one, the chairs were lightweight, making them easy to move. The other main reason was that wicker chairs did not retain heat. Under the hot lights of the studio, they remained cool so the subjects could sit comfortably.
