Tennessee Claflin

Tennessee is one of those unconventional heiresses that have a great story to tell! She used the snake oil business of faith healers to her advantage and in 1870, she and her sister had a rich benefactor that helped them created the first all-female brokerage firm – Woodhull, Claflin & Co.
She also owned a newspaper and promoted gender equality. Patrons come to have their checkes verified and stare at the short-haired women that wore pants and boots!
