Florence Nightingale
Nightingale revolutionised nursing as we know it and had a radical leading role in the management and care of the injured during the Crimean war in the 1850s. Back then, rats and feces infested hospitals but the British nurse reformed basic medical management and worked with the British Government to introduce sanitation laws into hospitals which nowadays we consider imperative.
