It Was Not Supposed To Be Free

Woodstock was not supposed to be a free event. They originally offered tickets for the 3-day festival. If you purchased your tickets beforehand they cost $18 and at the ticket booth the price was $24. After inflation, it would be $125.93 during presale or $167.91 at the door. The day of the event, they didn’t have fences or ticket booths set up in time, so everyone just came in for free.
