Apple TV

The 1st generation Apple TV was ahead of its time in a bad way in 2007. While the current TV streaming environment proves that the idea had merit, the product initially required a connection with a computer and mostly just played content from the iTunes Store or Apple’s MobileMe. Despite improvements in recent years, Apple TV still struggles to compete with alternatives like Roku and Chromecast, and Apple has begun to shift its focus to original streaming programming instead of the hardware device.
