Why did Stone Cold Steve Austin agree to host Redneck Island? He looked at the rate they offered him. He looked at his bank account. And he said, “That’s the bottom line, ’cause Stone Cold said so.” Okay, that joke is bad. But it’s not worse than Redneck Island, a CMT competition show that cartoonishly lionizes some of the more unsavory characteristics of this subculture.
