Understandably so, seeing a family abuse the federal system infuriated Patrick to the core. However, his outrage stemmed from a deeper place. Patrick was so upset because prior to being put on the program, he had been denied. Therefore, to him, this was a double whammy. It reminded him of his failed attempt to get assistance for his family. Now, he was seeing a family who didn’t have a need for government assistance flaunt their wealth right before his eyes while he struggled desperately to pull himself and his family out of poverty.
