Rose explained that the circle that was carved into the painting under the artist’s signature was done in homage to the Sioux Tribe. Upon hearing Rose’s account, Meredith nodded her head in agreement, stating that Rose was spot-on with regard to some of the details that she had shared about the artist’s past. However, she had one more question for Rose: she wanted to know whether the painting had ever been appraised before. To Meredith, it didn’t matter whether Rose or her grandmother had done it: she just needed to know. Rose thought for a moment before giving a response that would send shivers up and down Meredith’s spine.
