The Grand Announcement
When David Van Auker set up the abstract painting he had recently acquired in his store, he had no idea what it was. He just knew something about it kept him and the dozens who flocked to his store in constant wonder about the piece. Then, when Manzanita Ridge Antiques strolled into the store and saw the painting, he exclaimed, “That’s a William De Kooning!” something clicked in David’s mind: he had had an instrumental part of history in his store and he didn’t even know it. He had done some research and unearthed the article discussing the disappearance of the famous painting. What would he do?
