Her depiction sparked controversy — some critics argued it perpetuates the stereotype of the submissive Asian woman. Ving Rhames and Michelle Yeoh appear in small roles nodding to the original incarnation of the Guardians. Black actor Terence Rosemore plays a member of Yondu’s crew. Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, and Vin Diesel reprise their roles.
