Cast: Sir Ben Kingsley, whose late father was Indian and late mother was white, plays “The Mandarin”, a villain later revealed to be a false flag. The Mandarin is a historically problematic character, and Kingsley’s casting choice raised some questions. Don Cheadle and Shaun Toub reprise their MCU roles. Miguel Ferrer appears as Vice President Rodriguez. Chinese actor Wang Xueqi appears as Dr. Yao Wu, and in a cut released to the Chinese market, he’s joined by Fan Bingbing.
