The Dresden Files
Jim Butcher’s urban fantasy series “The Dresden Files” has strong adaptation potential as both an addition to the ever-popular police procedural genre and a rider of the fantasy wave that “Game of Thrones” set in motion. The story takes place in 21st-century Chicago, where protagonist Harry Dresden uses his abilities as a wizard to investigate supernatural crimes. Though a 2007 Sci Fi channel adaptation ended after just one season, a new series has been in the works since 2018, hopefully this time with greater success.
