Foundation
The cerebral, intergalactic science fiction of Isaac Asimov’s “Foundation” series at first seems like a far cry from the medieval fantasy of “Game of Thrones,” but the conflict at its center, with a last bastion of humanity holding out against overwhelming destructive forces, clearly resonates with Jon Snow’s fight against the White Walkers. Despite its origins as early as the 1940s, “Foundation” has never yet made it to the screen, but chances are good that we’ll see it soon as Apple TV+ has given a series order for an adaptation.
