Shadow and Bone
For those who prefer their fantasy with not quite so many mature themes, there are several shows in the works based on young-adult properties as well. One of those is Leigh Bardugo’s “Grisha” trilogy, starting with the novel “Shadow and Bone” and coming soon as a Netflix series. With a Russian-inspired setting, the story follows young female protagonist Alina Starkov (could that name really be a coincidence?), who has the power to summon light to combat an encroaching darkness.
