Earthsea

“The Earthsea Cycle,” a beloved young-adult fantasy series from author Ursula K. Le Guin, has seen two previous screen adaptations, first as a 2004 live-action miniseries on the Sci Fi channel, and then as a 2006 anime film from Studio Ghibli. Unfortunately, both fell far short of the author’s and fans’ expectations, but hopefully the third time will be the charm after a recent announcement that a new TV series is in development. Le Guin’s character descriptions pave the way for what should be a racially diverse cast, and of course it would be great to see some human-dragon interaction on our TV screens again.
