No Witch of the North

In the book, the first person Dorothy meets in the land of Oz is the Witch of the North, not Glinda, as the movie suggests. Dorothy doesn’t actually meet Glinda until close to the end of the book, which makes sense considering that Glinda tells Dorothy she could have gone home all along.
