In July, with the last of the 15 tons of items removed, the Collyer house was torn down. In 1965, philanthropist Jacob M. Kaplan turned the empty lot into a pocket park. In the 1990’s, the park was named Collyer Brothers Park by the Parks Commissioner Henry Stern.
