The Nazca Lines

Peru’s Nazca Lines have long intrigued archeologists. These enormous sculptures were made by ancient residents of the area, and were entirely invisible until the invention of the airplane. Apparently, the Nazca Lines were carved with the intention of communicating with someone in the sky, which wasn’t possible for centuries after their creation.
