The World War II Smartphone Zombie
When Stuart Humphryes posted a photo of beach-dwellers from 1943 on Twitter, he wasn’t expecting anyone to spot an anachronism in the image. Commenters pointed out what looks like a man staring at his smartphone at the center of the photo. It’s been suggested that the man is simply rolling a cigarette, but we all know the slumped pose of a smartphone zombie when we see it.
