The Quimbaya Airplanes

The Quimbaya Airplanes, made by ancient inhabitants of Colombia, are small gold models that look distinctly like airplanes. While most experts dismiss these as artistic interpretations of birds, in 1994, two researchers created radio-controlled scale models of the figures, and proved that they were actually capable of flight.
