Gray Tree Frog
The gray tree frog’s name is a bit of a misnomer, as the crafty amphibian can change its color to match its background in a matter of seconds. In the winter, the gray tree frog literally freezes — while it produces glucose to stop its cells from icing over, its heartbeat and breathing stops until winter passes. Then, it “thaws” and hops along its merry way.
