According to the Food and Drug Administration, the products in a Brazilian blowout contain up to 10.4 percent of formaldehyde, (which can cause cancer) and is closer in range to embalming fluid, (yeah!) which is typically used at funeral homes. But if you’re planning on getting your hair straightened, both you and the beautician will need to wear gas masks or you might experience symptoms like nosebleeds, headaches, dizziness and vomiting. Seriously, it’s not worth the risk!
