Towering Overhead
Pictured in the background is the Juche Tower, a monument to the North Korean philosophy of self-reliance crafted by Kim Il-sung. It’s built with “25,550 blocks—one for every day of Il-sung’s life.” Curiously, it was built to be exactly one meter taller than the Washington Monument.
