Light Pillars, Alaska

Light pillars are light formations in the sky that can be found just about anywhere. Halos are formed when sunlight refracts with ice crystals, the same way light pillars are formed. Its appearance is a complete optical illusion despite the reasoning behind it. While light from the sun can refract with ice crystals, light from the moon or streetlights can also refract with ice crystals and create some other-worldly light pillars.
