Operation Northwoods
In 1962, the US Department of Defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff nearly implemented a false flag operation in an attempt to incite a war with Cuba. It called for the CIA and other US operatives to commit acts of terrorism against its own citizens and then blame them on the Cuban government.
