My Lai Massacre
On March 16th 1968, US Army soldiers murdered between 347 and 504 unarmed South Vietnamese civilians, including women, children and elderly people. After a failed coverup, 26 US Army officials were indicted in the incident, and only one was convicted. He served three and half years under house arrest before being paroled.
