Unit 731
Between 1937 and 1945, the Imperial Japanese Army subjected at least 3000 men, women and children to lethal experimentation, including vivisection, disease exposure, forced pregnancy, high pressure chambers, and death by centrifuge. Rather than try the researchers involved, the US government offered immunity in exchange for their data.
