1961 Goldsboro B-52 crash
Just outside of Goldsboro, North Carolina on January 24th, the pilots of a B-52 Stratofortress lost control of the aircraft and were forced to abandon it. As the B-52 broke up, however, it lost the two 3-4 megaton thermonuclear bombs on board, which landed — and nearly detonated — on a farm in Faro.
