Tuskegee Syphilis Study

Between 1932 and 1972, the US Public Health Service conducted a completely unethical study with the intention of observing the progression of untreated syphilis. The unwitting participants in the study were African-American men who were told they’d be receiving free health care from the government, but who instead received an untreated STI.
