The Term “Hella”
The term “hella” originated in the 1930s from a bunch of college kids. It appears to be a shortened version of the term “hellacious”, which they used to describe how extreme something was. The present day use of the term “hella” is used in a similar fashion— noting how extreme a situation is or an outrageous quantity.
