A team of archaeologists at UCLA developed the Easter Island Statue Project
For the last 15 years, archaeologist Jo Anne Van Tilburg and her team have been documenting and studying the statues. Their goal is to not only discover the original meaning behind the creation of the moai, but to conserve them as well.
