Turns Out Those Easter Island Heads Have Entire Bodies Hidden Underground

Nearly half are still at Ranu Raraku, the main moai quarry.

Probably on account of how difficult it must have been to transport a moai, a lot of them are still in the main quarry where they were built. But hundreds of others were moved to other parts of the island and set on stone platforms called ahu.
