First Impression

Each ring of the bell brought new students and new introductions. Julia knew that she only had one chance to make a first impression. But as each 13-year-old walked through the door, Julia began to think she was making an impression – not one she was hoping for. Finally, the school day ended, and Julia felt a sense of relief wash over her. She dashed to her car with a bright red face, and her dress stuck to her back like wet cheesecloth.
At least tomorrow was another day, she thought tearfully. When she arrived home, she washed her dress in the sink and hung it out to dry in the warm evening breeze.
