The center was named a 2001 McDonald’s High School All-American and Georgia’s high school player of the year as a senior out of Glynn Academy, averaging 20.1 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 5.8 blocks. He signed a letter of intent to attend Florida, then opted to enter the draft straight out of high school.
